Optical Sorting

What is Optical Sorting

Automated Optical sorting is used to sort manufactured parts at very high speeds. This technology replaces error prone visual inspectors with a virtually fool proof software and camera driven system that can check up to a 1,000 parts per minute and record all dimensions and surface defects and push parts into GO and NOGO bins.

Why Optical Sorting?

  • Speed of checking up to a 1000 parts / minute.
  • Viable alternative to error prone and tough to train and recruit man power
  • Reports on kind of defects with statistical data so focused improvements possible
  • Customer confidence
  • Auto packing possible

Sinotech

Sinotech are pleased to announce that we have installed a 4 Camera Optical sorting Glass Machine supplied by CCTech of Taiwan.

CCTech is a leading optical sorting machine supplier in Taiwan with many reputed customers in Asia, Europe and the USA.

Examples of parts sorted

There are several reasons why parts might require sorting. Outside process operations may introduce foreign material from material handling equipment into a production lot. Or problems can develop at the source. Any number of defects can be generated in the manufacturing process - cracks, over or under length, over / under AF, mixed materials, missing threads, O/S Threads U/S Threads, etc., which compromise the quality of a production lot. Defective parts will ordinarily need to be sorted out. Because of both of the above possibilities, end users may specify sorting of their parts as a routine order specification. In this case, the sorting is precautionary rather than specific-defect directed.

zero-defects must be the continuing goal of any entity seeking to improve their product or service.
